Friday 19 January from 5pm to 6.30pm outside the Linskill Centre
Helix Arts’ would like to invite you to the outdoor projection of ‘Heart of Care’, a culmination of a two-year partnership arts project between Helix Arts, Rosetta Life, Bristol Black Carers and Kingston Carers’ Network. The project has worked with carers to create original artwork that shines a light on the invisible role that carers play in families and communities, challenging the perception of care in an inclusive society and expressing the compassion displayed in the role of carer. Heart of Care is an artwork made up of a series of dance, poetry and journal images with a sound score that will be projected in public spaces in Bristol, London and North Tyneside. Original music composed by Matthew Peters will provide a backdrop for the imagery.

Helix Arts worked with Carers from PROPS family recovery service in North Tyneside. Artist Jessica Kinnersley worked alongside participants to create their reflective journal pages giving participants time for themselves for self-care, reflections and recovery. The artwork projection is around 20 minutes and will play on a loop until 6.30pm. The event is free and open to the local community to attend. Tea and coffee will be available between from 5pm to 5.30pm. For more information, or to RSVP, email info@helixarts.com
